Timberwolves Europe 2013. Extra Days, Prague. 17 May.

(See previous posts for what this tour is about.) (As always, click on photos to enlarge or play movie.)

The last day.  We’ve had a great trip but we’ll be glad to get home.

We love Prague.  Depends on what you like.  Outdoors architecture and history abound.  Students of Charles IV and Rudolph II, not to mention the Premyslids, take note.  Museums, nothing like Berlin.  Food, drink, and people?  Overflowing.  If you don’t drink, don’t start here.  The local beer and wine is delicious, and strong.  I didn’t drink much but it didn’t take much to know I’d been drinking.

Now, about that last day.  Past Namesti Republiky to Na Prikope, on to Valaclavske Namesti viewing Art Nouveau buildings along the way, wind through back streets eventually back to Old Town Square, lunch along the way.

Mid-afternoon we view an outstanding exhibition of art nouveau master illustrator Alfons Mucha’ (moo-ka I hear), owned by Czech tennis star Ivan Lendl.

Evening concludes with yet another fine dinner at Obecni Dum.

.

(That’s why I like laptop blogging.  70 pictures uploaded in less than 15 minutes with about 75 clicks including picture selection.  The iPad2 would take 350+ clicks (at least 5 per picture) and a lonnnnng time, unless I bought and learned yet another ‘app for that’.)

There was musical entertainment at dinner.  Not quite classical but lots of fun:

That’s all folks.  Prague in a nutshell!
