Lens-Artists Challenge #50 – TREES

[Categories: Photography, Photography 101 Forever
[Photos this week are hosted right here on WordPress.]

[All photos might be right-clicked to open in a new tab or window.  They are pictures I’ve taken within the last 3 months.]

The challenge this week is led by Ann-Christine.

I haven’t yet checked the other TREES challenge posts, but these lines are likely to make more than one appearance.

JOYCE KILMER – TREES

“I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.”

Alfred Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)

This bud’s for you. Early Spring.

Windmill and trees. Don’t Fence Me In – Cole Porter.

If John Fielder can do black and white, why can’t I?

Leaves of Grass, or Trees of Glass, a la Chihuly? At the Franklin Park Conservatory.

Cherry tree, Orchard Farms/Black Bridge Winery, Paonia CO:

They will be ready in a couple of weeks, I’m told.

Cottonwoods near the Bross Hotel / B&B, Paonia CO.

Utah Juniper Tree, Colorado National Monument, Fruita CO. Monday.

Enjoy

Cherries! I have never picked fresh cherries. The photos are beautiful John.

  2. Leya says:

So lovely choices, John! A varied gallery, and if I should pick one – it would be many cherries – ;-D from the tree…But the blue/B&W is elegant and the juniper a dream. In fact, I love them all.

  3. Ruth says:

Wonderful tree gallery. “It’s amature man who plants a tree, under whose shade he’ll never sit.”

  4. Tina Schell says:

Lovely John. Especially the juniper. And yes, Mr Kilmer’s poem was quite popular this week!! He lived in my home town in NJ and our local school bears his name. First poem I ever had to memorize 😊

  5. Amy says:

A beautiful tree series, John. A poem lovely as a tree, indeed!

  6. Lovely choices, John. But I must say that the last photo is my favorite..

  7. rabirius says:

Excellent pictures. I especially like tree, or plant you took at Franklin Park Conservatory.

  8. rxfrazier says:

Your captions are great (and fun) compliments to your photos.

  10. I love all of the trees in this post, John.
