The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Tina. As alway, her photos are superb. See for yourself.
The theme is COLD.
“You’re as cold as ice
You’re willing to sacrifice our love
You want Paradise
But someday you’ll pay the price
I know”
–song by Foreigner
The mountains looked cool and cold from Kenosha Pass two years ago:
Hard-packed snow is cold at the annual Breckenridge Snow Sculpture competition:
‘I wuv’ you, Fernanda Waltmiller’:
(Hippo sings:)
“So won’t you, please
(Be my, be my baby) Be my little baby
(My one and only baby) Say you’ll be my darlin’
(Be my, be my baby) Be my baby now
Wha-oh-oh-oh
–song by The Ronettes
Jacque’s Peak, Copper Mountain Ski Resort, two different days:
“Jordan’s river is chilly and cold, hallelujah
Chills the body but not the soul, hallelujah”
–song by Johnny Rivers (Michael, Row the Boat Ashore)
The Yampa River is chilly and cold, in Steamboat Springs a year ago. It’s pretty, too. Almost monochrome!
Stay warm.
One last cold quote, because it is purportedly from A Song Of Fire And Ice (a.k.a. Game of Thrones):
“A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.”
-
Tyrion Lannister
I say amen to that! –JohnRH
Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Absolutely stunning John. 2 & 3 and the third from the last are my favorites.

Marvelous response John. Loved all of the images. The final shot of your mountain images looks like a Japanese etching. Also love the lyrics and especially your final quote. Thanks for making my morning 😊

John, John, John…
oh my goodness was the GOT quote excellent at the end.
I rewatched a few of the episodes this last week – my husband knows more about the show than I do – but he has never seen the Ayra chase scene in season 6 – so we watched it –
anyhow, good quote
“A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.”
Tyrion Lannister

and for the photos –
like those trees in the first set – and the Breckenridge Snow Sculptures are such good art – and nice fire pit ending

Thank you! I stumble on the quote by accident, but it’s a good one, as I do like to read. GOT was a captivating program.

Ha ha. We try to catch it nearly every year. Always a marvel. Surprisingly, there is often a warm snap in late January, testing the sculptors’ structural techniques.
