The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Patti.
A superb theme this week, but they always are. As it is now halfway through the week, and I have a penchant for wasting huge volumes of time, I’m scrambling to whittle a lengthy assemblage of photos into one visually digestible. HereItIs.
The Guggenheim Museum in New York City, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright:
Motorcycles and scooters in, where else, Italy. Genoa, to be exact. From a high point:
An Amado Pena puzzle (one of my favorite Western artists), which I had assembled but found missing pieces. I sent photos and he provided every one:
Nature’s art, a glacier in Alaska, as seen 10+ years ago from a float-plane ride around Denali Peak:
A fish not-out-of-water, again naturally abstract:
Alexander Calder’s ‘6 Dots Over A Mountain’, at the Denver Botanic Gardens 2 years ago summertime:
And now for something completely different, this is other-worldly, if not abstract. I stumbled upon a snapshot of my long-gone Sony Mavica FD-91 camera that used the small, hard, floppy disks. Probably my first digital camera. I remember scrambling around Amsterdam looking for a box of 25 disks, because I started shooting and quickly ran through the ones I had, as I had no computer with me to transfer the pictures. Those were the days!
Enjoy!
Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Love the balconies and the motorcycles! 🙂

I could believe they sent me the pieces either. I suspect others had a similar problem.

I especially like the glacier photo, John. The Guggenheim is an architectural classic, isn’t It?

The entertaining selection you shared is quite impressive. My palms started to sweat with the motorcycle scooter one. I can’t imagine trying to find where I parked, it’s bad enough in a car in a parking lot at Christmas shopping time! Love the ‘old’ camera photo too. It’s so fun to look back at technology and to be thankful for how far we’ve come.

A nice collection of pictures! Side note: I once visited Glacier Bay in Alaska, and took a boat out to see the glaciers. I like your photo above. Seeing the glaciers was quite an amazing adventure!
