The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Amy.
There are sooooo many things one could display. The challenge may be to limit the selection to less than 100 photos. I will do better than that. Food is a good focus, though many other subjects arose for consideration.
Following are pictures from a 2013 ‘Follow In Their Footsteps’ WWII Battlefield Tour of the 104th Inf. Division across Germany.
The Delitzscher Schokoladenfabrik (Chocolate factory):
Next, a roadside restaurant on a German freeway, would you believe. Impressive.
Photos of meals on the tour, of uncertain place and menu:
Finally, a display of a son’s love, affection, and remembrance for a father KIA in WWII Germany, near this river:
Enjoy.
As always, kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Pleasant end-of-year days to all, and to all a good night.
Love this food gallery! Such a delicious food display. 🙂 Thank you for sharing the last photo with us.

And that roadside one was impressive – also – I am not a bread eater but would
Gobble some of that bread in the photo – mmmm –

Hi, John. I had to look up and remind myself the location of Delitzsch: east of Halle, north of Leipzig, and well-connected with the S-Bahn. Your choco pictures reminded me of a little tasty tour I took of a choco factory in nearby Halle. And as for roadside food, as you know, driving culture in Germany is a fairly serious consideration. So, I’m not entirely surprised roadside stops in Germany might have a decent display of good food, although I’m sure that’s no guarantee. 😉

The Delitzsch factory offices were the Division Headquarters of General Terry Allen for a brief time in WWII. We had a great tour of Halle while visiting there, and were treated to a fine dinner by the local Salt Guild who still process salt brine from under the town on a ‘crafts’ basis.

* Delitzsch factory: that is a great historical nugget of information.
* Ah yes, the Salinemuseum Halle, and learning about the Halloren: their work and their traditions. Good times: https://wp.me/p1BIdT-9f8
