The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Patti.
She says: “By getting down low, looking up, or taking a variety of shots as I walk around the subject, I’m able to find the best perspective.”
I trust I can find some good examples from my snow-hiking Friday, 2/28/2020, near Frisco, Colorado. As you will see, it was a beautiful, blue-sky, drop-dead gorgeous day.
LOOKING UP I saw pale white Aspen trees against blue sky.
The sky was blue, blue, blue.
At an overlook we could LOOK ACROSS Lake Dillon to the east southeast:
If we LOOK CLOSER, at 360mm zoom, handheld, we can see Grays and Torrey’s Peak:
We might think a branch of dead pine needles by the trail is not especially pretty:
However, if we LOOK CLOSELY we see that Nature is beautiful even in death and decay. (Open this next one separately and zoom. It’s a beaut.)
LOOK CLOSELY:
BARK! (woof. woof.)
LOOK UP!
Enjoy.
Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Such beauty in the trunk of a tree and you captured it perfectly.

Gnarly. Totally gnarly. In a beautiful way. We are strange animals, IMO, in that we have a concept of beauty, and find it in a tree trunk.

Thank you Ana. The sky was SO blue that day. A little clean mountain air and altitude (9,500 feet) work wonders.

Aspens, Tish. All OVER Colorado. Look a lot like birches, though I’m not a tree person, other than oaks, aspens, pine, spruce, etc.

you’ve focused on one of my favorite trees John – maybe because we don’t have them here but I love them when I visit my brother in Colorado. A magical part of nature shown beautifully in your images. Also loved the close up of the pine needles.
