The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Ann-Christine.
Says she: “…a look at your morning – or Any morning – is the challenge for this week.”
Nothing says morning to me like COFFEE. The eyes remain cemented, the brain thicker than a London fog, until I’ve had COFFEE. Actually, I drink coffee as a medium through which I can consume vast quantities of creamer and artificial sweetener. VAST quantities of sweetener. I am the globally designated lab rat for such artificialities.
The following cup of coffee is not being imbibed at home. Not only is the ‘reckoning’ slip under the saucer a dead give-away, but this cup is 1/4 to 1/3 the size of my massive home mugs.
The following demi-cup is of European origin again. So reserved, so controlled. I admire you Europeans. From afar. From afar.
Second only to coffee in the morning, is breakfast. Sadly, but fortunately, I don’t eat as much as I would like for this meal, though it’s supposed to be a good time to eat heartily. My most favorite is the simple, American, 2 eggs over easy (I cook ’em sunny-side, as I’m not a good flipper), hash browns (of any variety, but preferably crisp), and sausage (patty preferred, moderately seasoned). The following breakfast looks much too healthy, likely European again. (Oops, looked it up, it’s Floridian, courtesy of m’lady’s aunt and uncle during a visit. Apologies.)
Next is what breakfast looks like when you are sick, sick, sick, and in hospital. A lot of liquid. Bloody awful. Fortunately this was many, many years ago and all that remains is this loving photo of a breakfast gone horribly wrong:
Finally, this cup doth not runneth over, it being of standard size, but I used it as a comparison to a Big Boy Tomato I had grown. They never grew so well again. (The Big Boys, my coffee mugs are much larger now.)
That’s all folks! Enjoy your MORNING, afternoon, evening, and good night.
Stay safe, be well.
Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.

Well John, I must agree on Coffee! And the breakfast is served on lovely china. (Fruit only painted though…;-D) Hospital breakfast looks rather thin…but I guess you don’t want much if you don’t feel well. And I so admire your Big Boy Tomato – From afar. But would love to have a bite ♥

I remember so well of the breakfast tray in the hospital last November, John. Your Big Boy tomato is huge. We don’t eat tomatoes fast enough so I stopped growing them. Lovely breakfast! 🙂

Ha ha! Thank you Amy. I could only get the Big Boy that big for 1 or 2 seasons in the backyard. Oh well. Not a green thumb!

With you 100% on coffee w lots of cream and sweetener John. Have u tried liquid stevia? Expensive but much healthier and very sweet so less is more 😊. Ever taste black coffee? When we have annual physicals it’s the only choice UGH!!!!!

I’ll check the liquid stevia. Powdered is too expensive and not sweet enough. Yes, I too sip black coffee before my annual. Double UGH!

I do like my coffee. Just like you, the first cup is to wake up, the second is for breakfast.
