The Lens-Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Tina.
The theme is Spring. Such as SPRING into the air, as these lasses (and laddie) are doing?
Don’t ask me, or even get me started, on why the Lens-Artist Challenge SPRING is following SUMMER instead of FALL!!! I’m sure the powers that be, they-who-shall-not-be-named, have their REASONS!!!
Go with the flow. No problem. I’m confident my circadian rhythms will continue to function, regardless of this BLATANT attempt to upset the world order.
But I digress.
I travel in the spring, a lot. Too hot in summer, too cold in winter, at least in my northern hemisphere primary habitations.
I was in Scotland during spring when I took the photos of the Scottish dancers.
I climbed green hill Arthur’s Seat, by Edinburgh, that spring:
Speaking of seats, there are seats with views:
This is Scott’s View, where the great Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott (Lady of the Lake, Rob Roy, Ivanhoe) would contemplate. The plaque enlightens:
Spring found me, or rather I found it, in the Keukenhof Gardens, Netherlands, many springs ago:
Hope SPRINGs eternal.
“Hope humbly then; with trembling pinions soar;
Wait the great teacher Death; and God adore!
What future bliss, he gives not thee to know
But gives that hope to be thy blessing now.
Hope springs eternal in the human breast:
Man never is, but always to be blest:
The soul, uneasy and confin’d from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.”
From…An Essay on Man: Epistle I BY ALEXANDER POPE
Stay safe, be well. Be kind to one another. 😷 👏 👍
Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Nothing like spring to give you a spring in your step!

Thanks John – never knew where that phrase came from. Kind of depressing really! As for the world order, got your attention didn’t we ?!?!? 😀 Loved your visit to Scotland and your tulips. Wonderful spring images

Your opening picture of ‘springing into air’ had me grinning. Scotland looked so green and Sir Walter Scott reference was the icing on the cake. Beautiful!

Yes, it is but it’s too short here. I need a longer spring.

My only time in Edinburgh lasted a mere 2 days in November many years ago: the time was glorious. I can only imagine what the city and area are like in spring and summer. And long before that, I also stumbled upon the beauty that is Keukenhof, thanks to the insistence of friends. I had initial skepticism, quickly disabused upon first sight of those tulips. Thanks for your images of spring!

Such lovely photos John. It’s comforting to note that Spring looks much the same the world over. And yes, Summer does come after Spring. This challenge will keep us on our toes. 🙂

We didn’t climb Arthur’s Seat when we were in Edinburgh in the fall, but I definitely want to do that…next time. Lovely shots of spring, John. The Keukenhof is gorgeous.
