Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #106 – Fall

The Lens-Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Patti.

Is it FALL now, to everyone’s convenience, since we have had SUMMER followed by SPRING in our inimitable Lens-Artists Challenges?!?! So be it.

Fall Challenges, or AUTUMN as it is called by those more fluent with The Queen’s English, most notably the English, will no doubt be a riot of FALL COLORS. I will do my best to represent the same from a Colorado point of view, though, pretty as they are, I admit they don’t compare to climes with a greater variety of deciduous trees.

I’m posting dozens of pictures from autumnal archives, if you can stand it. I plan to post ONE photo for WINTER, which I already have in mind.

Following are a plethora of pictures from 2013 (Lake Dillon is no longer as low as shown), many with which I discovered VIVID COLOR mode on my old Nikon camera. [Ed: It looks like this first series was take with my old Canon ELPH 100. Go figure.] Highly unnatural, just like many photos I see at crafts fairs, but they’re fun. (Reminder: CLICK TO ENLARGE the photos that may intrigue you, scroll through for awhile using your left or right arrow cursor keys, then use your ESC key or click the X in the upper left corner to return to this page.)

If that isn’t enough, here are other posts from 2013 with another zillion photos. Happy Fall!

Kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.

For those of you still puzzling, I finished the 2000-piece I was working on, three weeks time:

I quit. Don’t try this at home. Numerous medical caveats may apply.

  1. It wasn’t until 2018 that we drove through Colorado in the fall. Yes, there was not the variety of colors found in some other areas, but as we drove down country roads, it was truly an amazing experience enhanced by the flickering color of the leaves in the wind.

  2. Love this post because I get to see richer fall colors the likes of which we don’t have in Knoxville, Tennessee. We have fall, of course, but these colors are much more vivid than hours. And that puzzle? We’ve seen it for sale and even thought of buying it since we visited Cinque Terre. But that’s way too difficult for us casual puzzle workers. Good for you to finish in only 3 weeks!!!

  3. I love all your autumn shots, John. Wow, 2000 pieces, we won’t go there. Our second puzzle is for 14 years old and up, a lot harder than 8 years old and up. I think there are only three shapes of all the puzzles. They fit but don’t belong. 🙂

  4. Always love those autumnal images. I need to get out more in the fall. I don’t have near the collection of fall color as you do. I’d love to take a trip through the northeastern states in autumn, but I suspect it won’t happen again this year.

  5. I have this self imposed rule of about 5 photos per post and was thinking to transgress that for my Winter edition. But hey judged on this post it seems as if I can fire on all cylinders plus quite a few borrowed one’s!!. The Specialized photo is my favourite (despite us spelling favourite differently). I actually googled now why Americans call autumn fall and my suspicions that it simply has to do with falling leaves were confirmed. But the word actually originated in England where both words were used and was brought over to America by the colonists. Fall fell out of favour in England in favour of the autumnus of Latin
