Lens-Artists Challenge #150 – Let’s Get Wild!

[Categories: Photography, Photography 101 Forever]

Per Ramblin’ “I’m talking about Mother Nature untouched and untrammelled,  allowed to get on with her work without human help or hindrance.”

YEAH! What SHE said!

What about WILD blue yonder?!

“Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;”

—“The U.S. Air Force” is the official song of the United States Air Force, adopted in the late 1940s, and is often referred to as “Wild Blue Yonder“.

Originally, the song was titled “Army Air Corps.” Robert MacArthur Crawford wrote the initial first verse and the basic melody line in May 1939.[1]During World War II, the service was renamed “Army Air Forces” due to the change of the main American army’s air arm naming in mid-1941, and the song title changed to agree.

In 1947, when the Air Force became a separate service, the song was retitled, “The U.S. Air Force.” (Wikipedia)

Glacial Alaska is VERY wild. (Wink, wink.)

As The Troggs sang:

“Wild thing, you make my heart sing
You make everything groovy, wild thing”

If you can’t hug a tree, hug a WILD rock, or canyon:

A D E D A D E
Wild thing.. .you make my heart sing...
D A D
You make everything
E D
Groovy
A D E (G A G)
wild thing...

A (G A G A)
Wild thing, I think I love you
--tabs ultimate guitar

Stay safe, be well, be kind to one another.

  1. Wonderful imagery again, John, both visual and mental. I too have will have an earwig.
I wonder if there is such a thing as a visual earwig: I see the crowd singing “Wild Thing” in the movie “Major League.”

  2. The wilderness of the southwest is magnificent in its stark beauty, but at the opposite ends of the temperature scale, the wilds of Alaska display their own kind of allure. Nice collection, John.

  3. GREAT post, John! So fun! I will be thinking of that Troggs song in a different way now. (I might sing “Wild things” instead.) I especially love the clouds in your glacier image, and the Colorado Plateau will always be near and dear to my heart. Thanks for sharing!
