Lens-Artists Challenge #162 – It’s All About The Light

[Categories: Photography, Photography 101 Forever]

RE: TinaThis week the Lens-Artists team invites you to join us in exploring the magic of light.

“I see the lights, I see the party lights
They’re red and blue and green
Everybody in the crowd’s there
But you won’t let me make a scene”

–Claudine Clark

Yesterday… [YESTERDAY!]

“Yesterday
All my troubles seemed so far away” –The Beatles

…I made an unplanned midday stop at The Denver Botanic Gardens. Armed only with my iPhone X camera, which I’ve found doesn’t do a bad job for subjects in close proximity, m’lady and I were gob-smacked at the plethora (PLETHORA!) of August blooms and colors, even in overhead sunshine. Thus I feel compelled to dash off an initial response to Tina’s Challenge.

Photos are untouched, with the exception of a bit of zooming, which I almost always find is needed for a good display. Open and zoom more for light and shadow!

[Let me know if the photo gallery below appears as a black rectangle, but it appears to be working better this post. If not, try a page refresh. Click on it anyway to open a photo. Leave me a comment. Thanks.]

Stay safe, stay well, let there be light!

    1. Thank you Lindy.

“But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel
The inside might be as black as the night
But at the end of the tunnel there’s a light.” –Starlight Express, the musical

  1. I finally figured out that I can scroll the entire gallery enlarged by clicking on the right-pointing arrow at the bottom. You may have mentioned that in previous posts, but I didn’t notice it until today.
In any case, I enjoyed viewing the gallery, nice response to the theme!

  2. Well, we have plenty light here in Arizona almost every day, so I really, really, really appreciate a cloudy and even rainy day on the infrequent days they arrive. I do love botanical gardens, so thanks for sharing these beautiful flowers from this one. Hard to pick a favorite but I think the water lily shot in the middle left column and then the middle and right ones in the last row. Thanks for making my day more cheerful and beautiful.

  3. Beautiful photos of light upon the flowers, John.
I love going to the botanical gardens. They always have
the best flowers displays. It’s been raining everyday for
the last few weeks. I’d be fortunate to get 2 hours of walking
at any park. Thanks for taking me along. I enjoyed it very much.
    Stay Safe 😷 Isadora 😎
