LENS-ARTISTS CHALLENGE #169 – The ordinary

I.J. leads this week. The ordinary from a different point of view?

In my humble opinion it doesn’t get more ORDINARY than an ATTIC. How many photos of attics has anyone on Lens-Artists posted in the last year or two? FEW if any I say, not because they are unusual, but because they are too ORDINARY, mundane, blasé, banal.

I was in my attic recently, and it looked like THIS:

Dusty, dirty, uninhabitable place. It’s somewhere I don’t go too often, as it requires a ladder to start with. Why was I there? After a recent hail storm our condo association advised us to check for roof leaks, because, though the association is responsible for external roof damage, the condo owners are responsible for internal damage, such as from water, even though it was caused by external damage. Gotta’ love it. (TMI? Are you asleep yet? ORDINARY.)

I did not spot any leaks, but I did see a HOLE IN THE ROOF!

It appears to have roofing material over it on the outside and it’s possibly left from original construction, a poor choice of venting outlet that they didn’t use but failed to patch. Association responsibility none the less and they are in progress to repair it. Bored to tears yet? ORDINARY!

Did I mention that my furnace is in the attic. Not ORDINARY, so I’m not going to go there.
