Hmmm. Perfection. A noble pursuit, but always a pursuit?
Do you think perfection must include precision? Once upon a time I collected cut crystal glass:
English celery vase:

Another red cut glass:
All gone now. Do some artists strive for perfection?
What could be more perfect than that?
Do I detect a pattern here? I’m not telling. My work here is done.
Great reply to this challenge. I love the patterns on cut and etched crystal. Not so sure about the violin and what is that dessert?

Thank you Anne. I think that is a warm cinnamon apple crisp, consumed March 2016.

Nice response to this tricky challenge. Perfection is in these photos John. Although we may never actually achieve it totally.

I didn’t know this was called English Celery Glass. It is beautiful. I have the blue German cut crystal glasses. I wonder what they are called.

I was told it was a celery vase, I think because of the upper leaf pattern. I have no idea on the blue German.

Hmm….an excellent idea to focus on the crystal John, must admit I never thought of that and it’s a perfect answer to the challenge!

Crystal is usually symmetrically patterned.

Your images of the crystal bring back memories of some of my mother’s favorite glassware. Unfortunately, I have no idea whatever happened to them over the years.

My mother’s glass is what hot me into it. I would buy something for her, then I started to buy some for myself.

Got me into it, not hot me into it. I know, you knew. Typos!

A crystal clear answer, John! Fun and clever as you always are. The Violin? Interesting indeed…and of course there are patterns in your last picture…it is a duyck kicking a red ball.

The red and white glass looks so pretty, John. My mom collected some of that deep red glass (my daughter has it all now). BYW, nothing wrong with a nightly pattern of dessert. My world would end without it 😉

Lovely. Especially with the ceramics, and the things they hold.

The information about the Lichtenstein art definitely prompted a closer look at the dots, and to realize its a violin. Nice. I’m with you on dessert.

The glasswares reflected in mirror are lovely! Had to carefully read the violin details! And then the dessert – is the pattern that it’s all gone now?
