Lens-Artists Challenge #61 – Precious Pets – A Dog’s Life

[Categories: Photography, Photography 101 Forever
[Photos this week are hosted right here on WordPress.  Somewhere…  serene.]

The Lens Artist Challenge is hosted this week by Tina.

A childless person who may have difficulty relating to humans might shower attention on a domesticated animal such as a dog.  Such was the case with my West Highlands White Terrier named KaCee.

Although it was poorly trained it appeared to manifest a high degree of intelligence; watching tv, barking at animals it saw there, observing human tasks performed, as if it wanted to comprehend what was being done.

It was a much loved dog, receiving affection that couldn’t be expressed to people.

Several galleries selected from A Dog’s Life follow.  Click on a picture to open a gallery and cursor through.

Number three and final:

Our dearly loved little girl passed away during surgery for a liver tumor.  11 years young, we never expected to lose her so soon, as Westies often live to 14 or 15.  M’lady said and I concur, ‘our hearts are broken’.

  1. Oh what a celebration post and I smiled me I scrolled the photos

Sorry about her not making it thru surgery – hat must have been extra hard – the shock –
Because it is easier (IMO) when we know the end is near –

  2. The way you speak of her, the way she looked into camera when you took the photo tells how much she meant for you. Sorry for your loss. Takes a lot of heart to love an animal 🙂

  3. I’m sorry for your loss, John – KaCee was a sweetie. Much loved, I know you did everything you could for her. So many lovely shots! My eldest is 11 now and has been operated on several times. Precious time to still have him here.

  4. What a wonderful tribute to KaCee, John. She was certainly well-loved and cared for. I was touched by the shot of her sitting with a person with a broken leg. (Was that you?) Dogs really can read emotions. They are so willing to care for us and lend emotional support when we need it. So touching.

  5. These are lovely photos of your dear little Westie. I am sorry she passed and left you behind. We just had to have our little Schnauzer put to sleep last April. She was 14. We are getting a new puppy next week. I guess we will be up a lot at night for a few days.
