The Lens Artists Challenge is hosted this week by Patti. We are tasked with posting favorite photos from 2019 Challenges. In many cases my favorite photos are not my best photos photographically, but they are favorites.
#49 – Favorite Things. Unless you have been living under a rock, or this is your first viewing of one of my blog, you may not know one of my favorite things is Lapham’s Quarterly historical journal:
#61 – Precious Pets. Our precious Westie, now deceased, will always be a favorite:
#66 – Filling the Frame. The eyes have it. (Eyes, ayes, as in voting? Get it?) A captive audience at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio:
#73 – COLD. A better quality photograph, IMO. The Yampa River in Steamboat Springs:
#73 – COLD. Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a universe far, far, away, I skied a LOT! Now I’m reduced to getting to the top of the mountain, taking a selfie, and making a few runs on the way down. It was a passion, and thus a favorite.
#75 – Abstract. It’s not a great photo, but I like the contemplation on “what’s missing in your puzzle?”:
#76 – On Display, this photo garnered numerous kind comments. I think I used a Canon Elph 100 camera for the picture, so it is not photogenically of considerable quality. It’s the thought that counts. A display of a son’s love, affection, and remembrance for a father KIA near this river in Germany during WWII:
As always, kudos to the tireless leaders of the weekly Lens-Artists challenge.
Best wishes for a good 2020.
So lovely John.

We used to get the Lapham’s Quarterly. But we never had time to read the entire issue, so regretfully stopped the subscription. It is a treasure trove though. What a nice collection of favorites. I was especially intrigued by the puzzle shot, the tossing of the flowers and your sweet dog.

Thank you for your comments. It often takes me 3 months to read the Quarterly. The short extracts are good for bedside, though. I should take my own advice and do that more often.

You’re welcome. Good idea to read in short stints at bedtime. I hadn’t thought of that at the time.

Hi, John. I love your “look back” at the year. Your image of your beloved dog and skiing are 2 images which have lingered in my mind this past year. Thank you for being such a loyal follower of our challenges! We always appreciate your participation and thoughts.

Aye, the eyes have it indeed. Such eloquent expressions. I too find I love some of my experimental or accidental photos more. More good luck than skill in my photographs 🙂
