LENS-ARTISTS CHALLENGE #234 – Messages

(Wind Kisses leads.)

Following is the ear worm for the day:

I’ll send an S.O.S to the world
I’ll send an S.O.S to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah

Message in a bottle, yeah

There must be a message in there somewhere.

[Cloudup galleries are ahead. The usual caveats apply. If it doesn’t show, refresh page; click somewhere, anywhere, everywhere; click lower right arrow. Good luck.]

Speaking of messages in a bottle, following are photos from a wine store, places where I do my deepest philosophizing:

The rest of my philosophizing is done with coffee, which I only drink in order to consume creamer and sweeteners. Following are photos from a coffee shop, obviously, somewhere on Planet Urrth:

Finally, a photo of a Father’s Day message to me, from my dog, many years ago:

Get the message?

  1. I dropped a message in the bottle off a boat Mid-Pacific. More than a year later, during Christmas, I got a copy of the letter, a map, and a letter written in French from a school boy in French Polynesia who found the bottle on a fringing ring in the middle of an empty atoll while fishing with his uncle. He showed me on the map where he found it. His entire class and teacher signed the letter. The teacher explained that the bottle and letter to me became a class project.

  2. hahaha. Perfect! And fun! I can relate to both the wine art and coffee. I also love wine bottle labels. Drives my husband crazy when I pick a cute one, and the wine…not so tasty. lol Cheers. And a sweet Fathers Day message. I was hoping someone would hop on with cards or stationery. Thanks for joining John.

  3. Great response to this challenge John. Signs have a way of reaching us in different ways. Your examples tell me not to take this world too seriously. And dogs are all love with no expectations except to be fed and walked. Take care.

  4. A Plus for the greeting from your pup John – that’s really great! So wine, coffee and a beloved pet – three GREAT messages to think about. And if it makes you feel any better, that song popped into my head immediately the moment I heard the subject!
